Heating Season Officially Begins October 1st!

Municipalities vary, but New York City officially defines the heating season as October 1 through May 31.  During this time period, building owners are required by law to provide heat as follows:

  • Between the hours of 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, if the outside temperature falls below 55 degrees, the inside temperature is required to be at least 68 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, if the temperature outside falls below 40 degrees, the inside temperature is required to be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

We Are Nearing the 11th Hour for 2014 Heating Projects

thermometer     Although the weather outside has most people focused on air conditioning, time is quickly running out for planning and implementing those 2014 Heating Projects (large or small).

Several factors will determine whether or not a project can successfully be completed on time:

  • How long does it take to plan, design, bid, and approve a project within your company?
  • Manufacturer Lead Times - These vary and can sometimes be in excess of 8 weeks
  • Installation Time - Can vary due to project requirements and quality of contractor awarded the work
